Donousa is a small island in the southeastern of Cyclades, in Greece. The island's distance from Amorgo is 13 nautical miles and from Naxos port is 8 nautical miles. The port is at Stavros (Chora).

Chora (Stavros), the capital of the island, is characterized by the authentic island architecture, with white houses with beautiful bougainvillea that thrive in courtyards and the wonderful view to the endless blue of Aegean sea.

The island of Donousa has shown remarkable customs and traditions that have their roots deep in time and maintain the tradition of the place.

The main attractions of the island is the Holy Cross’ church, the Panagia’s church on your way to Kedros, the Messaria’s deserted settlement, the Pano and Kato Mylos at Messaria’s area, the ruins of geometric settlements at Messaria’s area, the Mersini’s spring, the Saint Sofia’s church in Mersini, the Fokospilia (Seal’s cave), the old mines on the foot of Papa mountain, the Cave of the Wall with stalactites on Xylobatis’ cape and the Saint John’s church.

The natural beauty of Donousa island is an attraction for hikers. They lead to lonely beaches, remote mountain scenery and many unspoiled hamlets.

1) Stavros - Charaugi

2) Charaugi – Mersini

3) Stavros - Kalotaritissa

Donousa has many beautiful sandy beaches. All have clear blue waters that you can not resist their charm.

The idyllic beaches of the island are :

Stavros, Kalotaritisa, Kedros, Livadi, Fikio, Vathi Limenari, Sapounochroma and Mesa Ammos, Tripiti (Vlychos), Xilobatis.
