Serifos

Serifos is located between Kythnos and Sifnos island, in Greece. The island's distance from Piraeus port is 74 nautical miles. The port is at Livadi.

Chora, the capital of the island, is built amphitheatrically on a rocky hill and is characterized by the authentic island architecture with white houses with beautiful bougainvillea that thrive in courtyards, cobbled streets, churches, the church of Agios Constantinos in Castle and the wonderful view to the endless blue of Aegean sea

The island of Serifos has to present a rich cultural history and folklore, with many monuments and settlements testify to the remarkable growth both in antiquity and in modern course. At the same time, remarkable customs have their roots deep in time and maintain the tradition of the place.

The main attractions of the island is the Castle with the church of Agios Konstantinos, the cathedral of Agios Athanasios with a wood carved iconostasis, windmills, the Folklore Museum, the Archaeological Museum, the Monastery and the Castle of Taxiarhon, the Cyclops’s throne, the White Tower, the “tis Grias to Kastro”, the cave of Koutalas, the Thermal Baths, the private display of soil samples at the old school and the Heroon-is a marble tribute to the Miners who rose up in 1916.  

The natural beauty of Serifos island is an attraction for hikers. Traditional mule paths, some dating from Classical times, criss-cross the island and open up unexpected views of the magnificent landscape. They lead to lonely beaches, remote mountain scenery, secret valleys and many unspoiled hamlets.

Serifos has many beautiful beaches to satisfy even the most demanding visitor. Other are sandy, pebble others, others are rocky coastline, but all have turquoise clear water that you can not resist their charm.
