Schoinousa is at the center of the complex of Small East Cyclades, south of Naxos island, in Greece. The island's distance from Piraeus port is 120 nautical miles. The port is at Mersini.

Chora, the capital of the island, is characterized by the authentic island architecture, with white houses with beautiful bougainvillea that thrive in courtyards, cobbled streets, churches and the wonderful view to the endless blue of Aegean sea.

The island of Schoinousa has to present a rich cultural history and folklore, with many monuments and settlements testify to the remarkable growth both in antiquity and in modern course. At the same time, remarkable customs have their roots deep in time and maintain the tradition of the place.

The main attractions of the island is the Church of Eisodia Theotokou in Hora, the Church of Evangelismos at Messaria, the Cave of Peiratis along the road leading to the port, the Archaeological Museum and the Folklore Museum. 

The natural beauty of Schoinousa island is an attraction for hikers. Traditional mule paths, some dating from Classical times, criss-cross the island and open up unexpected views of the magnificent landscape. They lead to lonely beaches, remote mountain scenery, secret valleys and many unspoiled hamlets.
