Kea is the northernmost of West Cycladic island, in Greece. The island's distance from Piraeus port is 40 nautical miles and distance from Laurio port is 16 nautical miles. The main port is at Korissia (gulf of Agios Nikolaos).

Chora (Ioulida), the capital of the island, is characterized by the authentic island architecture with medieval castle, beautiful white two-storey houses with tile roofs, windmills, small churches, small squares, paved streets and a great view to the endless blue of Aegean sea.

The island of Kea has to present a rich cultural history and folklore, with many monuments and settlements testify to the remarkable growth both in antiquity and in modern course. At the same time, remarkable customs have their roots deep in time and maintain the tradition of the place.

The main attractions of the island is the Ancient Ioulis, the statue Leo Ioulis, the Medieval Castle, the Cathedral of the Annunciation (Evanggelismos), the Agia Anna Monastery, the Agia Marina Tower, the Monastery of Episkopi, the Archaeological Museum located in Chora, the Ancient Korissos, the Old Enamel Factory located in Korissia, the Prehistoric settlement of Agia Irene, the Lighthouse located in the area of the Cape of Agios Nikolaos in Vourkari, the Ancient Site in Karthea, the Panagia Kastrianis Monastery in Otzias, the Poessa Fort in Pisses and the view from the Profitis Ilias Chapel.

The natural beauty of Kea island is an attraction for hikers. Traditional mule paths, some dating from Classical times, criss-cross the island and open up unexpected views of the magnificent landscape. They lead to lonely beaches, remote mountain scenery, secret valleys and many unspoiled hamlets.
