Syros is located at the midpoint of the Cyclades, in Greece. The island's distance from Piraeus port is 83 nautical miles and distance from Rafina port is 62 nautical miles. The port is at Ermoupoli (Chora).

Chora, the capital of the island, is built in the hills surrounding the port. Ιs characterized by the impressive architecture, with the baronial two-storied and three storied neoclassic buildings, the well-saved mansions of past century, the imposing churches and the wonderful view to the endless blue of Aegean sea.

The island of Syros has to present a rich cultural history and folklore, with many monuments and settlements testify to the remarkable growth both in antiquity and in modern course. At the same time, remarkable customs have their roots deep in time and maintain the tradition of the place.

The natural beauty of Syros is an attraction for hikers. Traditional mule paths, some dating from Classical times, criss-cross the island and open up unexpected views of the magnificent landscape. They lead to lonely beaches, remote mountain scenery, secret valleys and many unspoiled hamlets.
